Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival 2009




The third edition of Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival will be held in Copenhagen November 2-8, 2009.

This years festival is exclusively dedicated to the neapolitan composer Ascanio Mayone, and includes important european musicians and musicologists, such Christopher Stembridge (uk/at), Mara Galassi (it), Jean-Marc Aymes (fr), Dinko Fabris (it) and Musica Ficta (dk).

There will be held masterclasses and workshops at The Royal Academy of Music with all the soloists, as well as an international conference on Mayone and the music culture in Napoli around 1600.

Laude Illustre



Laude Illustre
is a visual concert for singers, medieval instruments and moving images - with italian medieval Laude music from 13th and 14th C. performed in a visual setting based on secco paintings from danish churches from the same period.
Peformers: Elizabeth Gaver, fiddle and rebec, Agnethe Christensen, cantele and voice, Gro Siri Johansen, voice, Björn Ross, video, light and setting.
Laude Illustre is produced in collaboration between
Modus - Center for Medieval Music, Oslo, Modern Roots, Copenhagen and renaissancemusik.dk.
First performances in Gamlebyen Church, Oslo, June 20 and 21, 2009.
