Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival 2009

The third edition of Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival will be held in Copenhagen November 2-8, 2009.

This years festival is exclusively dedicated to the neapolitan composer Ascanio Mayone, and includes important european musicians and musicologists, such Christopher Stembridge (uk/at), Mara Galassi (it), Jean-Marc Aymes (fr), Dinko Fabris (it) and Musica Ficta (dk).

There will be held masterclasses and workshops at The Royal Academy of Music with all the soloists, as well as an international conference on Mayone and the music culture in Napoli around 1600.

Laude Illustre

Laude Illustre is a visual concert for singers, medieval instruments and moving images - with italian medieval Laude music from 13th and 14th C. performed in a visual setting based on secco paintings from danish churches from the same period.

Peformers: Elizabeth Gaver, fiddle and rebec, Agnethe Christensen, cantele and voice, Gro Siri Johansen, voice, Björn Ross, video, light and setting.
Laude Illustre is produced in collaboration between Modus - Center for Medieval Music, Oslo, Modern Roots, Copenhagen and renaissancemusik.dk.

First performances in Gamlebyen Church, Oslo, June 20 and 21, 2009.

Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival 2008

The second edition of Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival will be held in Copenhagen October 12 - November 9, 2008.

The programme includes important european groups and musicians such as Marco Horvat & Ensemble Faenza (fr), Micrologus (it), Christopher Stembridge (uk), Mara Galassi (it), Janice Santos (de), and Freiburger Renaissance Ensemble Passo e Mezzo (de) - as well as leading groups and musicians from Denmark and Sweden: Ars Nova Copenhagen (dk), Musica Ficta (dk), Laude Novella (se) , Anders Danman (se), Fredrik Bock (se) and Lars Colding Wolf - among others.

There will also be held masterclasses with Marco Horvat & Deda Cristina Colonna, Micrologus and Christopher Stembridge, an international conference on Early Opera in collaboration with Nordic Network for Early Opera, a screening of the movie version of The Full Monteverdi with I Fagiolini at The Danish Film Institute/Cinemateket and a lot more....

CLOSER 2008

Dance-video-music performance in collaboration with choreographer Thomas Eisenhardt, Åben Dans and composer/musician Simon Christensen, Kundi Bumbo. 

Dancers: Ole Birger Hansen, Sofia Karlsson, Cesar Carcia, Louise Hyun Dahl. 

Musicians: Eblis Alvarez, Peter Navarro-Alonso.

I made the videographic production, which was a live mix between real time video and prerecorded material. 

The performances was given at Gimle in Roskilde and touring around Sjælland and Bornholm, February 18 - March 13 2008.

L'ORFEO 2007

L'ORFEO - Favola in musica da Claudio Monteverdi - had its premiere in Palazzo Ducale in Mantua, February 24 1607. 

The celebration of the 400 years anniversary of L'Orfeo in Denmark took place at Hofteatret/The Theatre Museum in Copenhagen with three sold out performances November 23 - 25 2007. 

I produced and created the videographic stage setting.

Musical direction: Peter Spissky.

Director and dramaturg: Magnus Tessing Schneider.

Singing master: Jette Barnholdt Hansen.

Costumes: Anette Abrahamsson.

Singers: Mathias Hedegaard, Elenor Wiman, Steffen Bruun, Paul Kirby, Tomas Medici, Pernille Madsen a.o.

Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival 2006

Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival 2006 - the first international renaissance music festival in Copenhagen - took place between October 22 - November 26 2006 as part of the Danish national Renaissance year.

During five weeks 18 different ensembles and soloists gave 17 concerts in all, including 164 individual musicians from 13 different countries.

Concerts were given by I Fagiolini (uk), Tetraktys (it), Tallis Scholars (uk), Maria Cristina Kiehr (ar), Ketil Haugsand (no), Janice Santos & Michael Spengler (de), Jauna Muzika (lt), Laude Novella (se), Ars Nova Copenhagen (dk), Musica Ficta (dk), Desperando Spero (dk), I Petrarchisti (dk), Allan Rasmussen (dk), Baroque Fever (dk), Capella Hafniensis (dk), Kantus København (dk) a.o.

Five masterclasses - with Jill Feldman, Kees Boeke, Ketil Haugsand, Michael Spengler and Robert Hollingworth - were given in collaboration with The Royal Danish Music Conservatory. The masterclasses were attended by 46 participants from 7 different countries.

Konstruktion Menneske 2005

Konstruktion Menneske [Construction Man] - 

a dance-performance-installation in collaboration with artist Leonard Forslund and choreographer Thomas Eisenhardt, Åben Dans. 

Two dancers - Ole Birger Hansen and Signe Andersen - were performing 6 hrs every day for a week.
The performance was part of the exhibition INTER_ACTION @ 

The Museum of Contemporary Art, Roskilde, November 2005.

Sound Facts 2005

Sound art event with installations, conferences and concerts at Museo della Musica in Bologna May 2005 with participants from Italy and Denmark. 

I curated the danish part, which included Brandon LaBelle, Goodiepal, Jacob Nielsen, Michael Mørkholt, Tanja Schlander, Søren helvildt, Lars Hansen, Mikko Jensen and me.

My own installation - ORGAN [museo] - was a 4-channel sound piece based on organ music by J.S. Bach, integrated in the museum collection.

In addition to the performances there was a sound archive with 70 hrs of audio and video material by over 110 artists from all over the world. Interactive multimedia works, cover art, posters and books were also to be found in the festival installation space which was open to the public six days a week.

PlayDead 2004

PlayDead - a multimedia installation in collaboration with Leonard Forslund at Landskrona Konsthall, Sweden, January 10 - February 22 2004.
This is a work-in-progress project - including text, audio, slides, video and computer animations - which had previously been shown in other versions at Skulptur i Eventyrhaven/Vollsmose, Odense in 2002, and at Albertslunds Rådhus, Copenhagen in 2003.
